This summer engagement session was a great way to get to know the soon to be newlyweds. These two chose Race Street Pier and Penn's Landing in Philadelphia for their engagement photography session. After we were done at Race Street Pier we walked to Penn's Landing in the summer heat to wrap up the session. We didn't have much time to squeeze in a session since the groom was only home for a short break. The groom is a marine and is on active duty, unfortunately away from his fiance. These two are looking forward to being together this coming summer for their wedding! Engagement sessions aren't required but are a great way to get to know your photographer. Many couples haven't been professionally photographed and want to do a practice run with their wedding photographer. Some couples decide not to do it and that is perfectly ok! No couple will turn into professional models after one session but it is fun to go out and practice anyway. I also love engagement sessions because on a wedding day, the couple is limited to certain locations for their photos. The engagement session allows the couple to choose a location that might mean something to them or a place that they just find interesting, but might be far from the wedding location.
