The day following the actual wedding, this bride and her family invited me to photograph them again but this time with their horses at a private farm in Medford, NJ. On a typical wedding day there isn't much time to capture specific portraits especially when you are trying to squeeze in photographing the whole family, guests, ceremony, prep, etc. I love that this family made the time to get back into their gowns and formal attire for an evening at the farm. These photos with the bride and her horse are some of my favorite from this past season. The bride's lace gown was made by hand by her mother. I love the deep v in the back of the gown that was complete with traditional covered buttons. At first her horse was actually afraid of the gown but after walking him around the stable for a few minutes he got used to seeing his family dressed so formally. Most of the weddings I photograph are in Philadelphia so this portrait session in South Jersey was a welcome change for this city girl. I will admit to being nervous around horses and the heat and humidity was not my favorite. But sometimes you have to work in uncomfortable situations to get the gorgeous photos you are dreaming about.
